Referral Indicators

Three Years

Refer to Speech Pathologist if:

  • Child is only using two words together.
  • Child is not following instructions.
  • Child has frequent colds and ear infections.
  • Child stutters (repeats sounds and words).
  • Parents are concerned,

Refer to Occupational Therapist if:

  • Unable to walk alone upstairs and downstairs, two feet to a step.
  • Unable to stand or walk on tiptoe.
  • Falls/bumps into furniture frequently.
  • Fear of fast movements eg. Slides, swing, spinning.
  • Unable to hold a ball and throw with both hands.
  • Unable to hold crayon in preferred hand to scribble.
